I'm Nick Healy, a Master of Design graduate with seven years of academic experience specialising in Industrial design, UX/UI design, and human-computer interaction. My work is centred on optimising user productivity within autonomous vehicles through human-centred and participatory design approaches. In my recent thesis, "The Road Ahead: Reimagining Commute Time for Shared Autonomous Vehicles," I explored ways to create in-vehicle interfaces that maximise commuting efficiency and address motion sickness, ultimately enhancing the passenger experience.

My design approach draws on socio-technical system methodology, which I use to solve complex design problems, especially in urban mobility systems and autonomous vehicle interfaces. I've combined product design, industrial design, and UX/UI expertise through various projects, balancing academic rigour with industry relevance. I've also worked with action research and human-machine interface (HMI) frameworks, using mixed-methods analysis for user interviews to gain quantitative and qualitative insights.

I'm passionate about translating complex user needs into innovative, usable designs. This focus makes me well-suited for roles in digital product design, interface design for autonomous vehicles, and urban mobility systems. I'm excited about opportunities that allow me to expand the reach of my research and designs, contributing to user-centred solutions that make an impact.
